Our Approach

• Health & Wellness Focus: Spire supports each student's mental wellness with a team of life coaches, who are certified school social workers and school counselors. Our life coaches develop deep connections with each student, fostering the confidence and skills necessary to succeed. Our therapeutic services incorporate methods from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Executive Functions Coaching. Skills are reviewed in both individual and group sessions and are tailored to meet a student's individual needs.
• Individualized Education: Spire prioritizes small, structured class environments which enables core academics to be enriched by a variety of interdisciplinary and elective courses, depending on the student's interest. Evidence-based practices and diverse learning modalities are employed depending on a student's specific learning needs. The curriculum is aligned to the Connecticut Core Standards and is taught by passionate and certified educators. Students can take part in honors, advanced placement (AP), and UConn ECE coursework.
• College and Career Preparation: We help students figure out what they want to do next. Our experts provide extensive post-graduate planning through robust college and career counseling, job shadowing, senior internships, and career pathways exploration.
